My Story
Hello! My name is Sarah Roselli and I am an Occupational Therapy Student who started Wonky Woodworks to pursue different passions and help pay for school!

Wonky Woodworks is a company based in Nutley, NJ, and born from my passion for creating handmade, unique items primarily made from reclaimed pallet wood. For the majority of my life, I have found joy in creating art - drawing, painting, photography, writing, and music. Since 2018, my art began to focus on woodworking. It began as a hobby, which turned into a passion I want to share with others.

A little background on the name- I had the opportunity to travel solo to Ireland where I spent 6 weeks living and working with local farmers and their families. During this time, I was able to learn so many practical skills, which really helped jumpstart my hobby of woodworking. One of the days, my chore was to assist the farmer in cutting down trees in his friend's plot. There was something about being in the middle of the forest, in the quiet, utilizing an ax and your own two hands. Unfortunately, it rained pretty heavily the night before so the mud was up to our shins, which made a hard job a little harder. I lost one of my Wellies (Wellingtons- rainboots) and hopped around in the mud trying to retrieve it. The farmer laughed loudly told me how ridiculous and wonky I looked. The nickname stuck, and I answered to "Wonky" for the rest of my stay!

"But with woodworking, it's really sort of gratifying to be able to have an actual piece to touch, and then step back and be able to share it."
